16Odoo 16The version most of my upgrade work starts from.If you are on 16 and it works, I will tell you so. An upgrade needs a reason beyond the number going up.17Odoo 17A common landing point for businesses moving off 16, and a version I have shipped a good deal of custom work on.Most of the migration effort here lands on custom modules rather than on standard Odoo.18Odoo 18Where a lot of my recent build work sits — new modules and OWL frontends rather than migrations.My default recommendation for a new build unless you have a reason to be on something else.19Odoo 19Newer, and mostly work on fresh builds and compatibility passes over existing modules.Worth a compatibility pass on your custom modules before committing to a date.20Odoo 20The newest release I build on.Good for a greenfield build. For a working production instance I would want a reason to move this early.
